The town of Siniloan in Laguna, compared to the nearby towns of Mabitac, Pangil and Pakil, looks more urbanized. For an instance, you’ll see that they have establishments such as Jollibee and Dunkin Donuts. And in the duration of my trip, it’s only here in Siniloan where I see the only ATM and only bank.

However, how urbanized Siniloan’s poblacion might be, their main road is still diminutive compared to the streets of Calamba, Los BaƱos and Sta. Cruz, all in Laguna.

Plaza Delfin Rador

This is the town plaza of Siniloan, named after their former Mayor Delfin Rador.
In this plaza located the Siniloan Theater, a covered basketball court, and the statues of two main Filipino heroes, Andres Bonifacio and Dr. Jose Rizal. The Siniloan Church and the municipio of Siniloan is there. Inasmuch as I wanted to know about the history of Siniloan Theater, I don’t know whom should I talk to (or maybe I’m just too shy)

Actually, may ATM din sa Paete, 2
Oh? Hehe, thanks for the info. I have been to Paete twice, pero di ko napansin kung may ATM. Kunsabagay, medyo urbanized na rin ang Paete.
pere ko po bang malaman yung history ng siniloan theater ?
Siniloan theater is not the first theater here in siniloan second lng sya kung nakarating sa me palengke meron pa dun isa that was the first. yung siniloan theater itinayo yun around 80′s to 90′s then after it was built medyo tumagal din syng operational pero dahil maunti lng ang nanonood parang nalugi sya bgo magclose. Dati kasi pag nanood ka meron kasi double na movie parang 2 movie isang bayad.
Siniloan Theatre served as the primary cinema house in that area of Laguna back then. It’s clientels came from the main town of Siniloan, to neighboring towns like Mabitac, Sta Maria, Pangil, Pakil, Paete, Lumban, Kalayaan, Pagsanjan, and even Sta Cruz (though they have their own cinemas). Even people from Rizal province [towns like Morong, Tanay, Teresa, etc] and Quezon province [Infanta] visit Siniloan for their weekly movie treats.
Aside from the cinema, they also have ballrooms and billiard tables.
I can still remember the time when they offer two movies for the price of one [double w/w]. Families spend their weekends bringing their kids to the cinema. And just outside, treats like balloons, cotton candies, toys and the likes are all for the taking. Parang tipikal na liwasang bayan noong 80s and 90s.
Aside from Siniloan Theatre, there’s Freedom Cinema as well. The one just beside PNB. You actually have a picture of the building.
However, these cinemas are not operational anymore. With the influx of pirated CDs/DVDs, who would pay for cinema entrance pa?
Instead, they converted the structures to something the market demands. Inside Freedom cinema are stores of different variety. The then Siniloan Theatre was now converted to a school.
Here’s a link to a post about Siniloan, its Plaza and the church area.
