Laguna “Loop Trip”

4 04 2011

Last weekend, I went to a trip to Laguna – alone. But why I called it a “Loop Trip”? Please take a look at the map below.

From my house in Muntinlupa, I went to Manila to take a bus to Infanta, Quezon (Raymond Transportation is the only bus line that has a direct trip from Manila to Infanta, Quezon), which would pass to my first stopver in Mabitac, Laguna. From Mabitac, I took some trips to the towns of Siniloan, Pakil, Paete, Kalayaan, and Pagsanjan, all in Laguna. Then I took a trip to Sta. Cruz, Laguna, where Manila-bound buses were located.

Here’s a list of cities and towns I passed by to complete this trip:
(Legend: * – stopover (also marked with red on the map), + – just passed by)
* Manila (starting point)
+ San Juan, + Quezon City, + Pasig, + Cainta, + Taytay, + Antipolo, + Teresa, + Morong, + Baras, + Tanay, + Pililla
* Mabitac
* Siniloan, + Pangil
* Pakil
* Paete
* Kalayaan, + Lumban
* Pagsanjan
* Sta. Cruz (bus trip back to Manila)
+ Pila, + Victoria, + Bay, + Los Baños, + Calamba, + Cabuyao, + Sta. Rosa, + Carmona, Cavite, + Biñan, + San Pedro, + Muntinlupa City, + Parañaque, + Taguig
* Makati (end point)

Whew, 35 cities and municipalities in one day. The bus left the terminal at 8:00 AM, reached the town of Mabitac by 10:30 AM. By 5:30 PM, I reached Sta. Cruz, and finally ended the trip at 8:00 PM.

Also, I have a PhP1000 budget, which almost exclusively went to transportation expense.
114.00 – Manila to Mabitac Junction (bus)
40.00 – Mabitac junction to Mabitac Church (tricycle, mukhang naisahan ako dito :| )
10.00 – Mabitac Church to Siniloan town proper (tricycle)
60.00 – Jollibee value mean :D
13.00 – Siniloan to Pakil (jeep)
8.00 – Pakil to Paete (jeep)
70.00 – Pansit from Paete
32.00 – Multiple connecting rides from Paete to Kalayaan (please see my succeeding post about this :| )
15.00 – Kalayaan to Pagsanjan (jeep)
8.00 – Pagsanjan to DLTB bus terminal at Sta. Cruz (jeep)
