A Visit To The Old PNR Station in Muntinlupa

It was one of those days that I spend nothing at home, so I’ve decided to go to Muntinlupa to search for interesting subjects. And I’ve stumbled upon the old PNR station in Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.

Muntinlupa PNR Station

The station was there for the longest time. The son of the takilyador (the one who gives the ticket) told me that the NHA (National Housing Authority) ordered the demolition of the station but they insisted that the passengers and the takilyador need some sort of a waiting shed. Aside from the station, the takilya serves also as a sari-sari store.

The other people at the station cum sari-sari store told me that most of the residents were relocated at Southville (it’s somewhere near New Bilibid Prisons and Katarungan Village). But some of them still have their relatives within the area. And besides, the area was not yet totally cleared.

Breaktime
I was taking a picture somewhere, when these guys requested to have their picture. I told them that I’m going to blog this, but I don’t think they understand what I said. Anyway, they are resting from demolishing their own homes. I thought that they are going to make a punching bag out of me but I was wrong. They were very accomodating and kind.

Bata
These kids were playing within the station. The boy in white posed in my camera but when I got closer, the other kid turned away. Anyway, the boy in white is a grade 1 pupil at Muntinlupa Elementary School. He has two other siblings (including the other kid in the picture), but both of them are not studying.

Jesus Nazareno Chapel
Well, the Jesus Nazareno chapel was spared, but the arch and its perimeter wall were already demolished.

Shambles

I must say that the residents of the PNR site within Muntinlupa are lucky because the relocation is still within the city. I hope that as they leave this area, they would live a good life with their brand new home, just as I hope that the PNR would be modernized.

Panalong Kuha July 27 – August 20

Many events occured during this period, including the death of our beloved President Cory Aquino. After a long while, I’m now posting these ramdom shots I took.

The New and Improved PNR

The New and Improved PNR

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) releases its new rolling stock. And being a long-time fan of railways, it’s glimpsing on the bright future of not just our railways, but our transportation system as a whole.

These trains has only two trips, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, plying the route Tutuban – Bicutan and vice versa. Unfortunately for me, I still have to take a bus ride to Alabang and a jeepney to our home. (But hey, the old PNR’s routes (Commuter Express or COMMEX) to Alabang and Binan are still operational…)

Stations

Supposedly, these are the stations, but it only stops on these stations: Tutuban, Espana, Sta. Mesa, Pandacan, Paco, Vito Cruz, Buendia, Pasay Road, EDSA, FTI and Bicutan, since the other stations are still under construction.

Let’s take a look on its amenities:

Galit Ka Ba Sa Con-Ass?

There are different ways of expressing dismay and disapproval on Charter Change (Cha-cha) and Constituent Assembly (Con-Ass).

The classic way: Mass demonstration

And finally, the Michael Jackson Way (These are funny… haha)
